Our Production

Our factory is presently located in Ratchaburi, Thailand with a production capacity of approximately 150 metric tons a month. We are in the process of building a new factory located in Thap Sakae which will double our production capacity. The new location is in the midst of the coconut belt of Thailand.  This area will help us expand in the future with its inexhaustible supply of raw material available.  All our cocopeat has been aged eight months to a year before processing.

Production line overview:

Method for testing EC. A sample of material is placed inside a stainless steel column a weight is used to tamp the material down by letting it fall a few inches to compact the coir inside the column to an even density. A portion of about 50cc is cut of from the column. This allows the same amount of material to be used despite it's moisture content. To this 90cc of distilled water is added and allowed to stand for 15 minutes, after this a reading is taken with a lab grade EC meter.
All material being processed is double tested in our lab at four different stages of the production process for EC and PH.

  • Product at Thap Sakae is tested for EC to make sure it has completed the aging process.
  • The raw dust is brought in from our storage location in Thap Sakae. This material is stored in a compartment with concrete walls on three sides. The estimated content of this compartment is 100 cubic meters.
  • Material is brought to the first conveyor belt with a small mechanical loader. A constant stream towards the screen is created manually.
  • The screen takes out fibers and other contaminations like stones. Small stones are picked out manually from the conveyor after the screen. Fibers are stored in a compartment next to the compartment of the raw material.
  • Screened material is gathered in a small bunker containing approximately 3-4 cubic meters.
  • Material is transported to the washing table with a jackscrew. Between the screw and the table, a divider is positioned to spread the material evenly on the table.
  • The washing table is a low speed steel mesh conveyor belt. Above the belt sprinkling units for water are positioned.
  • The washed material is transported to the press belt by a short conveyor belt.
  • At this time samples are taken for EC testing.
  • Material is washed again if EC does not fall within criteria of less than .5
  •  After pressing, the material is transported with a long jackscrew to the top of the drying unit.
  • After drying, the material is collected in a small container consisting of approximately .5 cubic meters.
  • Material is dried further on a drying floor.
  • Dried material is then pressed into blocks.
  • Material is randomly selected and retested for EC
